Man arrested in deadly May shooting in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A 23-year-old has been charged in the May shooting death of a woman, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced Sunday.

Police said Malachi Rawlings, 23, of Southeast, was arrested Friday, Jul. 31, by the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Around 6:30 a.m. on May 12, officers responded to reports of an unconscious person in the 1300 block of Congress Street, SE.
