DES MOINES, Iowa — The Des Moines Police Department says five people were injured during two separate crashes this weekend.
Des Moines Police say the first crash occurred just around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rescue personnel were called to E. 1st Street and Court Avenue on a crash with injury.
Police say the preliminary investigation, which includes witness statements and video evidence at the scene, indicates 34-year-old Demetrius Carrington was driving a Ford Trax heading west along Court Ave. at high speed when he crashed into another Ford Trax, driven by a 21-year-old woman, within the intersection…
