Bridge over I-385 in Mauldin reopens after rehabilitation work

MAULDIN, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – After more than a month of work, the East Butler Road bridge is back open in Mauldin.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said rehabilitation work on the bridge over I-385 would last through the summer as its deck was resurfaced. The bridge was originally expected to reopen to drivers on Aug. 6, but appears to have opened ahead of schedule.

The SCDOT previously told FOX Carolina that it is planning a corridor improvement project on East Butler Road, which will include reconstructing the roadway, adding bike lanes and sidewalks, along with utility relocation and drainage improvements…
