Authorities in Florida are seeking the public’s help identifying the person responsible for abandoning a dog in crate for days without food or water earlier this month.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said on X, a vehicle pulled into a church parking lot off Phillips Highway on July 1, dropped the dog crate outside, and drove away. Three days later, a church employee found the crate with the abandoned dog inside.
“It was clear the dog had been left without food or water; it was covered in its own feces,” the sheriff’s office said. A veterinary exam revealed the dog was “extremely malnourished” and it is now undergoing “extensive recovery.”…
