A CHP officer helped rescue two people trapped inside a burning vehicle after a crash Sunday morning on the 60 Freeway in Riverside.
At approximately 9:32 a.m. on August 2, 2026, the California Highway Patrol and Riverside Fire Department responded to eastbound State Route 60 near Day Street following reports of a vehicle over the side with two occupants trapped.
When emergency crews arrived, they found the vehicle on a steep embankment and on fire. The car had nearly gone completely over the side, where it could have fallen approximately 30 feet into a parking lot below…
