Syracuse, N.Y. — There wasn’t much planning involved, just a message asking anyone who played Irish music to learn “The Auld Triangle” and meet at Coleman’s Irish Pub at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Within 48 hours, 15 musicians from bands across Central New York were shoulder to shoulder inside the Tipperary Hill landmark, joining a worldwide tribute to Glen Hansard, the Irish singer-songwriter whose music has echoed through pubs for decades.
