LANE COUNTY, Ore. – Wildfire smoke will reduce air quality across Lane County beginning tonight, with the heaviest impacts expected in eastern Lane County, including Oakridge, Westfir and the Eugene and Springfield area.
According to Lane Regional Air Protection Agency, smoke impacts are expected to continue until further notice. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory Monday for the Portland metro area and parts of central and eastern Oregon.
A shift to easterly wind is carrying smoke from wildfires in Oregon and Washington, primarily east of the Cascade crest, into the Willamette Valley.
