A petition opposing the use of license-plate-tracking Flock Safety camera technology in the Boerne area has gathered nearly 700 signatures in less than one week.
The appeal calls on the Kendall County Commissioners Court to terminate its contract with the company, remove its cameras and delete all data it has collected. Kendall County, along with nearby cities such as Fair Oaks Ranch and Bandera, also adopted the camera systems last year.
A Reddit post, first made by user u/pasher on July 23, 2026, shared a link to a Deflock Boerne website, urging the community to take action by contacting public leaders’ offices, requesting public records and sharing the names and other information about which local officials are “opting Boerne residents into mass surveillance.”

The user then posted a link to a Change.org petition on Saturday, July 25. It initially gained more than 100 signatures within 24 hours. As of Monday, August 3, the petition has 881 signatures.
