Major downtown Shreveport property owner is selling it all. He’s frustrated with the city.

Downtown Shreveport’s largest non-government property owner is selling everything. Over the past 16 years, Hakim family corporations have purchased some of the most important of downtown’s historic properties as well as a prominent high-rise office building.

The properties are now listed by Marcus & Millichap, a California-based real estate company with offices in 80 U.S. markets.

The total square footage of the properties owned by Ed and Joseph Hakim of Monroe is more than 624,268 square feet. This is more than the roughly 500,000 square feet of the Regions Tower and Building, which takes up an entire city block, and more than the properties currently owned by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson…
