Hundreds of Bay Area restaurant workers took a rare night off to honor Anthony Bourdain

On a night when most San Francisco restaurants go dark, the city’s hospitality workers filled AMC Kabuki 8 instead of their dining rooms, turning an industry-wide day off into a rare communal gathering.

They’d come not only to see a movie but to celebrate one of the industry’s most enduring icons: the late chef and media personality Anthony Bourdain.
