Great Miami River Trail construction begins August 10

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Construction will begin on sections of the Great Miami River Recreation Trail to improve safety at five roadway crossings starting on Aug. 10.

The upgrades target intersections in Dayton, Moraine, West Carrollton, and Miamisburg that have been identified as higher risk for trail users due to heavy trail and vehicle traffic, inconsistent signage, and curb ramps that don’t meet current standards.

The crossings are located at:

  • East Helena Street, Dayton
  • Two crossings on East River Road, Moraine
  • Farmersville-West Carrollton Road, West Carrollton
  • West Linden Avenue, Miamisburg

The crossings will receive new ADA-compliant curbs, updated pavement markings, and high-visibility trail crossing signage. Some intersections will also receive solar-powered pedestrian-activated warning lights…
