KENT COUNTY, MI – Cascade Township voters narrowly approved an overhaul to the township’s zoning code on Tuesday despite pushback from some residents who felt the proposed new regulations were too restrictive to property owners.
An Aug. 4 ballot measure asking voters whether the township should update its decades-old ordinance passed by a tight margin of 3,727 to 3,558 votes, or 51% to 48%, according to unofficial election results from the Kent County Clerk’s Office.
