Allegations swirled around a Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors decision Tuesday to approve a third study and consultants contract, costing $496,000, regarding issues in the Modesto groundwater basin.
On a 4-1 vote, supervisors hired Geosyntec Consultants to conduct an independent review of two previous studies by other consulting firms.
Supervisor Channce Condit, who voted no, took the opportunity to declare he’s opposed to any data center development in his district, which includes the water shortage-stricken Patterson area.
