NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Drivers faced some early-morning backups on Wednesday following a deadly overnight crash along I-88 in the western suburbs.
According to Illinois State Police Troopers, the crash unfolded around 12:45 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of I-88 at Eola Road in Aurora.

While it is currently unclear what led up to the crash, troopers said two vehicles collided in the area, and one of them caught fire.
Two people inside the vehicles were injured and subsequently pronounced dead, though it is unclear which vehicles they were riding in.
