BARBERTON — With a projected district budget deficit of $11 million by Fiscal Year 2028, the Barberton City Schools Board of Education July 29 approved a salary freeze for the 2026-27 school year for all administrative and administrative assistant staff.
The board also approved an addendum to Superintendent Jason Ondrus’ contract through July 31, 2029, with no salary increase.
Ondrus said as a Barberton High School graduate, he has had the “good fortune” of serving his home district as superintendent.
