NYC Heat Advisory issued as heat index could reach 102; rain in forecast

Residents can expect a stretch of hot, humid weather through the end of the week, with temperatures climbing into the low 90s and the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon and evening according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday afternoon will remain partly sunny with a high near 79 degrees and a light southeast wind. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is possible between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., though most areas are expected to stay dry.
