Party in the Park
The 29th season of Party in the Park continues on Thursday with a headline show from Smash Mouth, the multi-platinum group with hits like “All Star” and “I’m a Believer.” The band has sold millions of records and has been used in film soundtracks, including the Shrek franchise.
Sophistafunk, a band known for their blend of funk, hip hop, and dance music, will open the show. The summer concert series takes place every Thursday at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park through Aug. 13. There will also be a special Friday performance on Aug. 14 featuring Almost Queen.
Gates open at 5 p.m. for the Cantina area, 6 p.m. for the rest of the venue, and performances begin at 6:30 p.m. This year’s lineup includes both nationally touring artists and local artists across multiple genres…
