More than 100 incoming ninth graders from Carpinteria Unified School District (CUSD) and Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD) participated in a week-long college experience at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) this summer, earning one unit of transferable college credit while developing confidence and skills needed for success inside and outside of the classroom.
SBCC’s Dual Enrollment Summer Bridge Program, presented in partnership with SBUSD Program for Effective Access to College (PEAC) Program and supported by the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College, provided students with an immersive experience designed to “inspire confidence, build a sense of belonging and encourage students to pursue higher education,” according to a press release sent to Coastal View News.
