Petty Officer 3rd Class John Trantum, a native of Gallatin and 2021 graduate of Station Camp High School, is currently serving the U.S. Navy assigned to USS Harry S. Truman, an aircraft carrier operating out of Norfolk, Va.
The skills and values needed to succeed in the Navy are similar to those found in Gallatin, according to Trantum.
“I worked at my family’s boat dealership growing up, which made me comfortable working around the water and taught me the importance of working together as a family,” Trantum said. “Those experiences instilled the values of hard work and responsibility in me.”…
