Families in Plano and across Collin County will soon have access to more specialized pediatric mental health services as Children’s Medical Center Plano expands its outpatient behavioral health programs to meet a rising demand.
The expansion adds four programs that provide care for children and teens experiencing challenges ranging from substance use and suicidal thoughts to autism and other health conditions. Hospital leaders said the new offerings are intended to make specialized treatment more accessible without requiring families to travel elsewhere in North Texas, according to a press release from the hospital.
Among the additions is the Teen Recovery Program, the only outpatient program of its kind in North Texas for adolescents experiencing both substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
