Tolling facilities are the last big step before roughly two new miles of SR-167 open to traffic next month.
They’re part of final construction on the section of expressway west of I-5, which will connect the city of Fife and SR-509 to the interstate. It’s scheduled to open to vehicles in mid-September, officials say, with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting scheduled for September 10. An exact opening date for traffic has not yet been set.
It’s part of a megaproject building six new miles of expressway between Puyallup and the Port of Tacoma, which will also include sidewalks and shared-use paths for non-motorized travelers. The entire project is set for completion by 2030…
