Palm Beach County zoning leaders back data center moratorium, weighs tougher regulations

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Palm Beach County leaders are hitting pause on new large-scale data center proposals. The zoning commission unanimously recommended a one-year moratorium during a public hearing Thursday morning, but not before raising concerns that the proposed moratorium may not go far enough.

The zoning commission approved a proposed definition of what a large-scale data center is but said it needs work because it leaves too many loopholes for developers.
