Most toy haulers top out somewhere around $190,000 before dealers start padding the sticker. The one sitting behind a custom 2026 Peterbilt 589 in a video from the RVing with Andrew SteeleYouTube channel carries a retail price of $1.25 million – and the show unit is currently listed on RacingJunk.com for a “discounted” $700,000. That’s not a typo.
The rig in question was built by 1492 Coach Works, an Oklahoma City operation founded by Aaron Weimer that grew out of Outback Customs, his high-end horse trailer business. Weimer launched Outback in 2012 and has spent the years since building toward something the mainstream RV industry hasn’t attempted. His team is currently on pace to complete around ten coach-level builds this year, up from seven the year prior, while Outback simultaneously rolls out roughly 230 living-quarters horse trailers annually. The two lines share the same fabrication shop, cabinet shop, and upholstery operation – which is exactly why the 1492 product looks the way it does.
What $1.25 Million Actually Gets You
The trailer is 49 feet long and configured across three bedrooms – including a second-story loft with twin beds accessed by a custom-fabricated aluminum ladder-staircase – plus a 14-foot garage, one and a half baths, and a queen sleeping setup up front. Dry weight sits at 36,000 lbs according to Weimer, with a full load projected to push past 40,000. The Peterbilt towing it is rated to 56,000.
Simmeron Trailers, based in Chico, Oklahoma, fabricated the chassis on an aluminum horse trailer platform according to specifications provided by 1492. Weimer describes it as, “The basic bones of that trailer are built on a high-end aluminum horse trailer platform that’s just rugged, hell for stout, designed for a lifetime.” From there, 1492 handled the sidewall framing, window placement, interior construction, and full-body paint – all done in-house.
