CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Albemarle County Office of Housing is opening several waiting lists for project-based Housing Choice Vouchers later this month, providing new housing opportunities for eligible families, seniors and people experiencing homelessness.
Applications open Aug. 17 for three project-based voucher waiting lists:
- Treesdale Apartments
- Scottsville School Apartments
- Vista 29, a new permanent supportive housing community scheduled to open next year
County officials say each waiting list serves a specific apartment community and has its own eligibility requirements. Some are designed for larger families, while others are intended for seniors or people experiencing homelessness.
“We are excited to open up our waiting lists for some of our housing voucher programs,” said Anthony Haro, housing program manager with the Albemarle County Office of Housing. “What’s important is that these are for project-based Housing Choice Vouchers, which means they’re dedicated to specific apartment communities in our area.”…
