A Boston police cruiser crashed into a building near the intersection of Grove and Washington streets in West Roxbury just before 4 p.m. Thursday, sending one person to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It remains unclear whether the person hurt was a police officer or a civilian.
According to WCVB, the Boston Police Department confirmed the crash near Grove and Washington streets but has not released additional details about how it happened. Police officers were dispatched around 3:41 p.m. to the area after emergency calls reported a motor vehicle collision involving a cruiser, per Boston 25 News, placing the crash squarely in the middle of the late-afternoon commute along one of West Roxbury’s busiest arterial corridors.
The crash falls within the jurisdiction of Boston Police District E-5, which covers West Roxbury and Roslindale and operates out of a station house on Centre Street, according to the city’s own department listings.
