At the Aug. 3 Charlottesville City Council meeting, councilors approved a plan and allocated funds ahead of a Sept. 1 deadline that officials have set to clear the Free Bridge encampment located near the Rivanna River.
According to the city, effective Sept. 1, no one can enter or stay on the Free Bridge encampment property except while passing through on the Rivanna Trail by foot or bicycle, or as otherwise authorized by the city.
Anyone who violates the prohibition is subject to arrest and prosecution…
