Federal health officials just started pulling the plug on Network for Hope, the Louisville outfit that handles organ donation across Kentucky and chunks of Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia.
This came after regulators dug through more than 350 cases where donation had been signed off on but never actually happened. And when you’re talking about a system that runs on trust between hospitals, grieving families, and people literally waiting for organs to survive, that kind of review landing badly is a big deal.
This organization covers almost 7 million people and has over 300 staff on payroll…
