HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A rezoning request for a nearly 400-unit housing development in the Conway area was deferred again Thursday by the Horry County Planning Commission.
The proposal would affect roughly 187 acres in the area of Highway 905 and Old Reaves Ferry Road, changing it from “forest agriculture” to a “multi-residential” district. The developer asked the planning commission for a deferral last month after comments from residents who voiced concerns about flooding and traffic.

A resident who attended last month’s meeting continues to have the same concerns.
“Infrastructure needs to come first,” Michael Rickwalski said. “You have to research the land, research what’s going to happen to the houses. The houses are going to be built; they’re going to push the water out into the roads. It’s going to cause more flooding.”…
