Red-shouldered Hawk to take flight following two-month stay at SWVA Wildlife Center

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – A Red-shouldered Hawk was merely a fledgling when it was found in May, coated in flies on the Grayson County ground.

It only took two months at the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center for the bird to be ready to reconquer the skies.

The center will release the hawk 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7 at the Morningside Park in Roanoke City…
