AUSTIN (KXAN) — In August of 2023, Greg and Lulu Goodman lost their 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, to suicide — a tragedy Greg said his family would never move on from. But they are moving forward, and they’ve found a way to honor Meadow while trying to help others who struggle with their mental health.
Goodman said his wife told him after their daughter’s death that she did not want to hide away from the community and wanted to be open to receiving love and support. Goodman is a musician, and Meadow loved music and advocating for others, so MeadowFest, along with the Meadow E. Goodman Foundation for Mental Health Awareness, was born.
“When you experienced a loss like this, it stays with you the rest of your life,” Goodman said. “My wife and I will never be okay. I mean, we’ll be okay, but we’ll not be great, we live with this and we miss Meadow terribly.”…
