Visitor charged with smuggling synthetic drug into Central Mississippi Correctional Facility

A woman accused of smuggling synthetic drugs into the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility during a July visit has been arrested and charged, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Cheryl Gooch, 50, was arrested Thursday, Aug. 6, at her home on charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in a correctional facility, introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility and conspiracy.

She was being held in the Rankin County Jail on bonds totaling $350,000…
