Search warrant results in drug, weapons charges for Salem man

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A search warrant has led to three drug and weapons charges for a Salem man.

Tyler Alvis was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a weapon early on Thursday, the Salem Police Department has announced. This comes after a SWAT team executed a search warrant on the 5000 block of Coloma Court SE just before 5 a.m. that morning.

Police reported that the Strategic Investigations Unit obtained the warrant as part of an ongoing probe. During the search, officials discovered two .22-caliber handguns and $1,740 in cash, according to SPD.
