COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina State Museum honored Corey Alston, a Snowden native, Friday after he was named a Guinness World Records title holder for creating the largest sweetgrass basket in the world.
State museum leaders say Alston’s basket, named “Big Percy,” was officially measured by Cox & Dinkins Inc. at 44.1 inches long, 43.3 inches wide, and 52.6 inches tall.
