On Saturday, morning lows are expected near 70°F before afternoon readings climb toward 90°F. Sunday’s storm chances are comparatively lower, WFXR reported. Monday stands out as the one day most of the region is likely to stay dry.
Storm Risk Tied to Building Heat and Humidity
The stormy pattern has been building all week. WFXR reported on August 6 that rising heat and humidity were combining to fuel afternoon and evening storm development, with some storms capable of producing heavy rain. Morning lows were hovering near 70°F and afternoon highs approaching 90°F for Friday.
A Bermuda High positioned over the western Atlantic has been a key driver. As that high-pressure system shifts westward, it pushes greater moisture and instability into the region, WFXR explained in an August 5 forecast.
