WARREN COUNTY, Miss. — Construction projects along a stretch of Interstate 20 in western Mississippi are approaching key milestones, but officials say the number of accidents in the work zones remains a concern for drivers.
Work spans from the Louisiana-Mississippi state line bridge to the Hinds/Warren County line, leaving little of the corridor untouched by active construction.
State line bridge work
The Louisiana Department of Transportation is finishing expansion joint repairs on the eastbound lanes of the state line bridge before shifting to the westbound side.
“Remove and replace the expansion joints that are on the bridge,” said Erin Buchanan, a public information officer with the Louisiana Department of Transportation. “Those joints allow the bridge to move as it’s designed to do.”…
