SoulFULL Cocina owner suffers stroke, restaurant temporarily closed

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Last Friday, during a typical day of work, Manuel Hurd, the owner of SoulFULL Cocina, suffered a stroke while at his restaurant.

Manuel had noticed the stroke after his speech began to slur and his vision went grey during a phone call with a friend.

“I kind of leaned over, and the only thing that I could say was call 911,” Manuel said.

New hire present on second day of work

Manuel said he normally would have been alone in the restaurant at the time. A newly hired employee was there — it was only her second day on the job when she made the call for help…
