Emergency road repairs will cause delays for nighttime drivers traveling both ways on Highway 46, east of the Cholame Y toward Bakersfield, starting on Sunday, Aug. 9.
According to a Caltrans news release, one-way reversing traffic control will be in effect along Highway 46 on Sunday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Monday through Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for emergency maintenance work.
Travelers should expect delays of 10 minutes and were advised to allow extra time through the area. Electronic message boards will alert travelers in advance of the closure, the release said…
