Tampa man found dead after boat crashes into rock jetty: FWC

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The body of a Tampa man was recovered from Tampa Bay after a boat crashed into a rock jetty on Saturday, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 27-foot vessel was carrying two occupants Saturday morning when it crashed near Picnic Island Park in South Tampa.

The force of the crash threw both occupants off the boat into the water, FWC said.
