Funeral held for Fayetteville dad, Fort Bragg soldier who died in controlled demolition of Iranian drone

HOPE MILLS, N.C. (WNCN) — A funeral service was held Saturday afternoon in Hope Mills for a married Fayetteville dad and Fort Bragg soldier who was killed during the controlled demolition of an Iranian drone in Iraq last month.

Staff Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, died on Sunday, July 19, during the incident involving one-way unmanned aerial system at Erbil Air Base in Iraq, the U.S. Department of War reported.
