First Alert Forecast: Tracking storm chances later Sunday, early next week

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The first half of the day Sunday is shaping up to be primarily dry. Highs will make it into the low to mid 80s. However, a cluster of thunderstorms across Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois could drift eastward into our area Sunday evening and overnight, bringing showers and thunderstorm chances back to the forecast. The severe threat is low, but not impossible. Wind would be the biggest risk.

After some morning storms Monday, we’ll be watching for another cluster of thunderstorms across the Upper Midwest early in the day that could push eastward into our area by Monday afternoon and evening. Strong wind gusts, torrential rainfall, hail, and perhaps even some brief rotation are all possible risks with any one storm. Overall, though, this looks to be a lower-end severe threat locally…
