FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A freak rollercoaster crash put the fates of five teenage children into the hands of a mechanical fortune teller. The dark plot is at the core of “Ride the Cyclone,” which is coming to Fort Wayne’s Arena Dinner Theatre this month.
“A fortune teller that has somehow been conscious, and after the tragedy that takes these children away, he’s granted one semi-supernatural shot to bring one of them a chance to come back to life,” said Jeff Moore, who plays the Amazing Karnak, the mechanical fortune teller pulling the strings of the piece. “There’s a lot of hope in it too. Even though it sounds like such a dark premise to start the show, you see the kids kind of as they were in life.”
The performance is a partnership between Arena Dinner Theatre and the Youtheatre, which is providing talented leads to play the roles of the teenagers trying to win the favor of the Amazing Karnak and each other…
