INDIANAPOLIS — Members of the Indianapolis Fire Department rescued a woman from a burning apartment on the northeast side of Indianapolis Saturday morning.
In a Facebook post, IFD reported that, around 9:33 a.m., emergency dispatchers received a call that indicated a 58-year-old woman was trapped inside a burning apartment located in the 6100 block of Dickson Road, which is located just off of North Arlington Avenue.
Firefighters subsequently responded to the scene to assist the woman. When they arrived, they found a two-story apartment building that did not appear to be exhibiting any obvious signs of fire.
As crews entered the building, they encountered heavy smoke on its first floor. Per IFD, firefighters located the woman who had reportedly been trapped in her apartment about a minute after they got into the building.
