DAVENPORT, Fla. (WFLA) — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said a woman is dead and a man is being held for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after a two-car crash in Davenport on Friday.
The fatal collision happened on Ronald Reagan Parkway near Portofino Way just after 12:15 p.m. on August 7.

Two vehicles, a GMC Terrain and a Nissan Pathfinder, were both traveling west in the inside lane, PCSO said. The Pathfinder began to merge into the outside lane but suddenly swerved back into the inside lane.
The cars collided, deflected off each other, and collided again. The force of the second collision sent the cars to opposite sides of the road, with the GMC crashing into a tree on the south side and the Nissan into one on the north side.
