KALIHI, Hawaii (Island News) — Firefighters extinguished a fire at a vacant building in Kalihi on Friday evening and the cause is currently under investigation.
The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) received a 911 call about a fire at 1190 Dillingham Blvd. in Kalihi at 6:03 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7. When firefighters got to the scene within minutess, they found smoke venting from the windows of a single-story, commercial building that appeared to be vacant.
Firefighters began their efforts to take out the fire and searched to make sure no one was inside. The fire was brought under control at 6:24 p.m. and it was fully extinguished under an hour later at 7:15 p.m…
