There’s a building on Main Street in Greenville, South Carolina, that stopped being a courthouse nearly a century ago but never stopped being a place where people come to think.

M.Judson Booksellers now fills the sun-drenched rooms of this 1918 Beaux Arts landmark with shelves of carefully curated books, the smell of old wood, and a pace of life that Greenville’s revitalized downtown seems to invite.
