EAST LYME — A former business executive was arrested on charges he siphoned money from an East Lyme company he once headed, town police said.
Michael P. Mattox, 45, of Doral, Fla., former CEO of Birk Manufacturing, was arrested Wednesday on a first-degree larceny charge after “a lengthy financial crime investigation,” East Lyme police said.
The arrest follows an investigation into allegations that Mattox used company accounts, including a corporate credit card and checking account, to steal a “substantial amount of company funds,” police said.
