A 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed yesterday evening after his motorcycle was broadsided by a Toyota Tacoma at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Norstad Avenue in Otay Mesa West. The crash happened around 5 p.m. and left the rider dead at the scene from fatal blunt force trauma after he was ejected from his bike. His identity had not been released as of publication.
According to FOX 5 San Diego and KUSI News, the motorcyclist was riding a red motorcycle southbound on Norstad Avenue when he entered the intersection against a red light and was struck by the Tacoma, which was traveling westbound on Palm Avenue. The truck was driven by a 32-year-old man behind the wheel of a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. Police say driving under the influence was not a factor in the crash.
