Fleeing driver arrested after leaving man with life-threatening injuries: police

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A 34-year-old woman was arrested early Sunday morning after the Bradenton Police Department said she left a man with life-threatening injuries the night before.

The victim was walking his bicycle across 14th Street West when he was struck by a Toyota 4Runner just before 11 p.m. on August 8, BPD said.

He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was still hospitalized as of Sunday morning.

After the collision, the driver parked her car nearby, got out and looked at the scene, and left, a department spokesperson said.
