LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Neighbors gathered Saturday to begin the rebuilding process of a Lubbock woman’s home, while she recovers from serious injuries suffered when someone drove into the side of her home.
Police said Dorthia Robinson lost control of her car and crashed into the home of Antionette White last Thursday near East Colgate Street and North Aspen Avenue, in northeast Lubbock. The car smashed through a side wall where White said she was sitting with her dog at the time. She was pinned under debris and suffered a broken leg and a broken clavicle.
Community response
Neighbors came together Sunday to care for White’s home in her absence. They secured the property against unwanted entry, picked up trash, and helped assess repair needs.
We pulled our resources together and we made a plan to be out here this morning,” neighbor Phyllis Gant said. “To do whatever we could do.”…
