‘I don’t want to go back on opioids’: Veteran challenges state hemp restrictions in petition

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Tennessee veteran living with multiple sclerosis says new state restrictions on hemp products are taking away an alternative she has relied on for years to manage chronic pain and avoid opioids.

Kristi Madore served in the military from 2002 to 2006 and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis two years later. As her condition progressed, she said so did the medications she was prescribed.

At one point, Madore said she was taking around 32 pills a day, including opioids…
